What About Gear?
The confidence builder course is a “bring your own gear” course, unlike our other courses. This means you’ll need to come equipped with all the necessary equipment to fly safely, including your motor and wing. We’ll discuss appropriate helmet options to help ensure we can communicate with you in flight.
Our confidence builder program students can use our available school equipment for an additional fee.
We have worked with various equipment and brands, so we’ll do our best to help you adjust your personal gear and offer advice as needed. However, we cannot guarantee intimate knowledge of all equipment brands.

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if bad weather occur during training?
Texas is one of the few areas in the United States that experiences favorable flying conditions year-round. We do our best to take advantage of windows to work on skills that require us to be outdoors. We’ll do our best to rearrange your training when inclement weather occurs.
If bad weather persists, students will discuss the possibility of flying at alternate locations during training. Arrangements are made on a case-by-case basis.
What if I don’t have all of my own gear?
Our confidence builder classes work best with the equipment you’ll use to fly independently. Therefore, we do not include rental equipment. Wings and motor units may be rented for an additional fee.
Lone Star Paramotor will provide a helmet for you to communicate with your instructor if you don’t have one.
